Rinku Singh drew plaudits for his exceptional and fearless brand of cricket that he displayed against Gujarat Titans during the 13th match of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League.

The southpaw scored runs when it mattered the most and helped the team get over the finishing line in the intriguing climax, in what is considered one of the best finishes in the history of the IPL.

Yash Dayal was on the receiving end as he leaked as many as 31 runs in the final over. His final over of the game proved to be too much costly for him as KKR star Rinku Singh exposed the bowler’s frailties by smashing sixes at will.

Rinku Singh said he tried to motivate Yash Dayal after the match

Rinku Singh scored 48 off just 21 balls where he smacked as many as 6 sixes and a four during the passage of play. Yash Dayal tried his best to keep the batter in check but that wasn’t meant to be.

Rinku Singh took the bowling attack to the cleaners as he smacked five sixes on the trot off Yash Dayal’s bowling and guided KKR to an emphatic win. KKR won the game by three wickets and notched up their second win.

Rinku Singh was named the Man of the Match for his scintillating batting performance. It remains to be seen if he can continue to dictate terms with the bat down the pecking order for KKR in the rest of the games this season.

Meanwhile, Rinku Singh said he tried to motivate Yash Dayal after the match. During an interview with India Today, Rinku Singh said he even texted Yash Dayal after the game.

Rinku Singh further consoled the bowler by adding that these things happen in cricket before adding that Yash Dayal did really well last year. Gujarat Titans lost their first game this season after chipping in with two magnificent wins over CSK and DC.
