The massive Indian fanbase breathed a sigh of relief earlier today when the Indian captain Rohit Sharma declared himself fit for the T20 World Cup semi-final match against England which will take place at Adelaide Oval tomorrow.

Rohit Sharma had taken a blow on his forearm while facing India’s throwdown specialist Raghu in the practice session and since he was pictured with a heavy bandage on his forearm after the practice session, the Indian fans were suspecting that there was a question mark over his availability for the semi-final.

But, Rohit himself came out to address the media on the eve of the game against England and he made it clear that the blow didn’t cause him any major injury. Rohit will be leading India in the semi-final tomorrow and he dropped a few hints about the team combination too.

In their last group game against Zimbabwe, India had made a vital change in their line-up and had picked Rishabh Pant ahead of Dinesh Karthik, who was their first-choice wicketkeeper at the start of the tournament. Rohit said that the change was made because the team management wanted to have a look at Pant before the semi-final.

According to Rohit, if the management wanted to play Pant in the semis based on the opposition or the conditions, it was important to give him a game before that, because he hadn’t had a hit out there in the middle after a couple of warm-ups games that India had played at WACA right at the start of the tour.

Rohit, however, stressed the fact that it’s not decided yet who out of Pant and Karthik will get the final nod to be in the playing XI tomorrow.

The Indian fans were happy, in the meanwhile, that the skipper himself was fit for the game as his leadership is extremely important for India. The fans on Twitter also hoped that Rohit would come good with the bat too in the business end of the tournament now.
