RCB retained Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. The franchise now has a purse of INR 83 Crores. However, they released some big names to the auctions. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players unlucky to be released by RCB before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.
1) Mohammed Siraj
It was a surprise to see RCB release Siraj before the auctions. Considering the overall increase in cost would have been just INR 11 Crores, RCB could have easily retained him.
He has played for RCB for a few years now. There is more than just the player involvement for the team. Having invested so much, it was disappointing for many of the fans to see the player leave. Nevertheless, RCB will be desperate to have him back with the RTM Card.
2) Will Jacks
Will Jacks is one of the players unlucky to be released by RCB before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. The English all-rounder did well in IPL 2025. At No.3, he scored some crucial runs, including a century against Gujarat Titans.
RCB could have considered him as the opener for the future. However, they have released him and it was a natural decision to make due to the budget constraints. Jacks had anyway not been in great form in the last few months.
3) Cameron Green (injured)
Mo Bobat clearly mentioned that Cameron Green would have been retained had he been fit. Now that Green is likely to miss IPL 2025, RCB had no other choice but to release the talented Australian all-rounder.
For the Aussie, it is a bit unlucky because he had the chance to play for one of the most popular franchises for a long period of time. It would have helped his legacy. Now it is not sure if he will play for RCB again.
