Mumbai Indians had one of the strongest squads before IPL 2024 started. Many expected them to easily reach the playoffs. However, the five-time champions are now struggling to get going in the ongoing edition of the IPL. Mumbai Indians owners are ruthless when it comes to making certain decisions. Hence, we could see a few from the management get sacked before the start of the next campaign. On that note, here, we take a look at two individuals from Mumbai Indians management who could be sacked immediately after IPL 2024.
1) Mark Boucher – Head Coach
Mark Boucher, till now, is yet to display the mark of cricket that he was supposed to bring in. In fact, his arrival has caused a few problems in the settled squad of Mumbai Indians. Some of his decisions have also not been great, all of which have had an impact on the performance of Mumbai Indians this season.
There are plenty of options available in the market. MI has the likes of Mahela Jayawardene and Kieron Pollard who are definitely capable of filling the gap. Hence, Boucher could see his job go away if MI does not reach the playoffs this season.
2) James Pamment – Fielding Coach
James Pamment is one of the individuals from Mumbai Indians management who could be sacked immediately after IPL 2024. Usually, Mumbai Indians are known to be a good fielding side. Yes, they are not known for extra-ordinary catches but they are highly effective in saving runs and holding on to all the catches.
However, this season, the squad is off the mark. The likes of Tim David, who usually has a safe pair of hands, has been disappointing on the field. Although the captain also has an equal role, the suitability of fielders and specific positions has also been a concern. Hence, James could be sacked before IPL 2025.
