Mohammad Amir was one of the important pacers of Pakistan cricket history. He made an instant impact with the ball for the national cricket team and went on to become one of the breakout stars for the Green Shirts.

The Punjab-born cricketer made his One-Day International and Test debut against the Sri Lankan cricket team when he was only 17 years old. He then made a name for himself by delivering the goods on a consistent basis.

Amir played his first international game during the ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2009 competition. He played a phenomenal role in each and every game of that tournament and assisted his team win the maiden T20 World Cup by beating Sri Lankan cricket team in the final.

Overall, he went on to play 36 games in the longest format of the game for Pakistan cricket team. He has accounted for 119 dismissals, bagging 4 five-wicket hauls to his name.

On the other side of the coin, he has taken 81 wickets in 61 matches, registering his personal best bowling figures of 5/40. He took just one fifer to his name and maintained an economy of 4.77.

He has played 50 games in the shortest format of the game for the Pakistan cricket team. Overall, he has taken as many as 59 wickets to his name, registering his personal best bowling figures of 4/13.

The left-arm paceman had announced his retirement from Test cricket in a bid to focus on limited overs cricket. In December 2020, he called it quits from international cricket.

Meanwhile, the left-arm paceman is of the opinion that he is not being treated properly by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Recently, the national cricket board denied a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Mohammad Amir for Abu Dhabi T10 League. “I am surprised that I am being treated like this,” he said when he was asked why PCB denied NOC to him for T10 league.
