The 43rd game between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Tensions flared up from both teams during and after the game at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

The likes of Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir and Naveen-ul-Haq crossed their limits which led to verbal altercations. The drama unfolded when Naveen-ul-Haq was involved in a verbal altercation with Virat Kohli during the game.

The very altercation triggered a series of events till the post-match presentation. The video clip featured Virat Kohli and Afghanistan’s Naveen-ul-Haq exchanging a few words during the game.

However, the exact reason for the verbal spat is still unknown. This isn’t the first time that Naveen was indulged in a verbal spat with an opposition player. He was involved in a similar heated exchange of words with Mohammad Amir and Shahid Afridi during the 2020 edition of the Pakistan Super League.

Naveen-ul-Haq breaks silence on Instagram with a story

Afghanistan cricketer was fined 50% of his match fees i.e. Rs 1.59 lakh for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. The LSG cricketer admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct.

After the game, he took to his official Instagram handle and then posted a story. His story reads, “You get what you deserve that’s how it should be and that’s how it goes”. His Instagram story went viral on the internet.

Talking about the game, Royal Challengers Bangalore posted 126/9 in their quota of 20 overs. Faf du Plessis top-scored with 44 off 40 balls (1 four, 1 six). In response, LSG were bowled out for 108 runs.

KL Rahul and Co went on to lose the game by 18 runs at home. They are currently third on the IPL 2023 points table with 10 points (5 wins and 4 defeats). RCB are now fifth on the table with 10 points (5 wins, 4 defeats).
