The rift between Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly began when the BCCI, with Ganguly at the helm as BCCI President, ousted Kohli as India’s ODI captain.

Virat Kohli’s decision to stop following Sourav Ganguly on Instagram sends a strong message. In the RCB vs. DC match, Kohli and Ganguly really faced each other. The two veterans didn’t even acknowledge each other after RCB’s dominant victory against Delhi Capitals. Kohli, who followed 276 Instagram profiles before, is no longer following the ex-BCCI president Sourav Ganguly.

Before India’s trip to South Africa, BCCI removed Virat Kohli as the team’s one-day international (ODI) captain, sparking the Ganguly-Koli dispute. Virat was angered by the decision, and he made some strong assertions in a heated press conference.

Virat Kohli vs Sourav Ganguly: Cold war is on

According to Virat, the BCCI and he did not mention the upcoming change in ODI leadership until a phone conversation a few hours before the team’s departure. Ganguly has said that he wanted Virat Kohli to stay on as T20I leader since the board doesn’t like having two captains, but Kohli has refuted this. Since Virat Kohli resigned as India’s T20I captain, Ganguly said the board also removed him as India’s ODI captain and appointed Rohit Sharma in his place.

Virat Kohli, meanwhile, has been in incredible form thus far in IPL 2023. The RCB batsman is now the team’s best run scorer, with 213 runs scored in four games at an average of 71. Kohli is someone who thrives on success, and the veteran has been in fine form recently, scoring centuries in all three versions of the game. If Kohli has a solid season, RCB will qualify for the playoffs for the year.

There is also a video making rounds on social media when Virat Kohli is sitting in a chair before coming out to bat. He is giggling and talking to everyone from the Delhi Capitals camp and ignoring Sourav Ganguly and giving him a stare while talking to others.
