Kolkata Knight Riders are playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 9th match of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League. The intriguing battle is currently being held at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Talking about the game, RCB skipper, Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bowl first. RCB bowlers tried their maximum best to keep the KKR batters in check. They succeeded in dismissing half of KKR’s batting line-up.
RCB bowlers pressed very high and rightfully reaped rewards when it mattered the most. During the 12th over, the two-time IPL champions lacked clues as they were reeling at 89 for the loss of five wickets.
Rinku Singh and Shardul Thakur stitch together a stellar partnership against RCB
Both batters changed the complexion of the game by scoring crucial runs for the team and putting KKR in their comfort zone. The likes of Rinku Singh and Shardul Thakur stitched together a record 103-run partnership.
Shardul Thakur chipped in with his maiden IPL half-century as he achieved the feat in just 20 balls. In the end, he scored a quickfire 68 off 29 balls where he composed his innings with the help of nine boundaries and three hits over the fence.
On the other hand, Rinku Singh also contributed to the team pretty well as he chipped in with 46 off 33 balls where he struck as many as 2 fours and three maximums.
Had it not been for this vital partnership, it would have been a different story altogether. Netizens heaped praise on the KKR duo providing a great deal of entertainment.
