Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper-batsman for Team India, was seen playing the helicopter shot in the nets during a practice session before the team’s match against Hong Kong in the Asia Cup 2022.

Following their victory over Pakistan by five wickets, the Men in Blue will play Hong Kong on Wednesday in Dubai for their second encounter in Group A of the Asia Cup 2022 tournament (August 31).

Pant was caught on camera before the game trying the helicopter shot when the team was in practice. MS Dhoni, a former captain of India, is largely responsible for the stroke’s widespread popularity.

Pant’s absence from the Indian starting XI for the match against Pakistan on Sunday came as a complete and utter shock to everyone. The management came to the conclusion that the experienced wicketkeeper, Dinesh Karthik, would be a better choice than the aggressive left-handed batter.

Both of these keepers are also good batsmen, and they are competing for a berth in the Twenty20 World Cup. Because of Karthik’s recent performance and Pant’s stellar reputation, it is likely that both players will be included in the Indian team that will compete in the ICC tournament in Australia. However, it is possible that only one of them will be selected for the starting eleven.

Former Indian cricketer Saba Karim believes that Pant will improve as a Twenty20 player as he gains more game time. He said that even though the player still has a great deal to learn about the sport, he has begun to exhibit indicators that he is improving.

Pant has participated in 54 Twenty20 Internationals for India, during which he has amassed 883 runs while maintaining a strike rate of 126.32. In this format, he has already accumulated three half-centuries under his belt.
