India’s experienced cricketer Ajinkya Rahane made the headlines today after he was finally drafted into the squad for the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia.

The second cycle of the ICC WTC Final is slated to be played at The Oval from June 7 to 11. For the record, June 12 has been set as the reserve day. India will be relying on Rahane to deliver the goods in the most important encounter.

In the previous cycle under Virat Kohli’s leadership, India surrendered at the hands of New Zealand in the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship final.

However, this time, Rohit Sharma will be leading the pack from the front. It will be quite interesting to see how Ajinkya Rahane will make use of the opportunity this time around.

Since the last year, Ajinkya Rahane has been making the headlines for all the good reasons. He scored plenty of runs in the Ranji Trophy 2022-23. Having played seven games so far, he scored 634 runs in seven games at an average of 57.7, including a staggering 204 against Hyderabad.

Besides that, he upped his ante and scored crucial runs for Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. The right-handed batsman scored 209 runs in five games this season.

Moreover, he has maintained an impressive batting average of 52.25. He has maintained a sensational strike rate of 199.05, the highest by any batsman in the ongoing IPL season.

Rahane has played 82 Tests for the Indian cricket team wherein he scored 4931 runs at an average of 38.52 including 12 centuries and 25 half-centuries to his name.
