Delhi Capitals’ youngster Prithvi Shaw seems to be making the same mistakes again and again, which has often put him on the back foot. He is yet to make an impact with the bat for Delhi Capitals this season.
Ahead of the start of the IPL 2023, DC coach, Ricky Ponting seemed pretty confident that Prithvi Shaw will go about his business and dictate the terms in this season.
However, Prithvi Shaw failed to bring the best out of himself in the first two games for Delhi Capitals. He was dismissed for just 12 runs against Lucknow Super Giants before getting out for 9 against Gujarat Titans.
Virender Sehwag slams Prithvi Shaw for not learning from his mistakes
Former Indian opening batsman, Virender Sehwag launched a scathing attack on Prithvi Shaw for not trying to sort out the repeated errors that he has been committing every now and then.
During the game against Gujarat Titans, Prithvi Shaw played a shoddy shot as he hit the ball straight into the hands of the fielder stationed at mid-on and ended up getting dismissed for a cheap score.
According to Virender Sehwag, Shaw has been dismissed playing those types of shots on many occasions. Sehwag also cited an example of Shubman Gill’s meteoric in cricket.
The former Indian opener echoed that Shubman Gill is now a regular feature for India across all three formats of the game before adding that Shaw is still struggling in the Indian Premier League.
Sehwag urged Shaw to up his game a bit so that he can have a good IPL season just like the other bright young prospects. The former Indian cricketer praised Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill for making their presence count in the IPL. Sehwag advised the DC opening batter Prithvi Shaw to make use of this IPL.
