Pakistan cricket team are hosting England for the three-match historic Test series. The Test series opener is being held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. England are playing the first Test after a massive gap of 17 years.
Talking about the Test opener, England’s Test captain Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bat first. England’s opening pair namely Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley were at their imperious best against the bowlers.
The left and right-hand combination tweaked the magic as they gelled well together to add a staggering 233-run partnership for the opening wicket before Zahid Mahmood dismissed Duckett for 107 runs.
On the other hand, Zak Crawley scored the quickest Test century by an England opener as he accomplished the feat in just 83 balls. Haris Rauf took the prized wicket of Zak Crawley by making a mess of his stumps.
Pakistan Cricket Board failed to prepare a Test match pitch against England
Zak Crawley departed for 122 off 111 balls with the help of 21 boundaries at a strike rate of 109.91. On the other side of the coin, Ben Duckett scored 107 off 110 balls with the help of 15 fours, at a strike rate of 97.27.
The fact that England players scored runs at the rate of knots clearly tells us that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) didn’t take even the slightest effort in terms of preparing a Test match pitch.
England cricket team have scored 332/3 in 54 overs at the stroke of the Tea session. Meanwhile, fans have slammed the PCB for failing to prepare a Test match pitch for the historic Test match.
Besides that, modern-day technology including Decision Review System (DRS) and Speed Gun were also temporarily unavailable, which made the first Test ever so embarrassing.
As far as Pakistan’s bowling performance is concerned, Zahid Mahmood took two wickets to his name whereas Haris Rauf settled for a wicket.

Afaik, this has been their Test match pitch template for ages. Besides, not a bad thing since they are hosting teams after years, they'd want to give fans 5-day cricket & not 2/3-day Tests. Must say well done @iramizraja What do you say @nassercricket https://t.co/iB1xJVP2xv

Their only aim is to defeat a Billion $ economy. They don't want to excel in their cricket. Let that decrease the quality of Test Cricket they are playing #PAKvsEng https://t.co/CM0Aibn5qj

Yes we will need to take some advice and training from neighbours how to make a dusty and big holed ( Khadda) wicket where ball remains below knee and can turn 65 degree from first ball.#PAKvsEng https://t.co/jYb4vhdFvW

Not even surprised. Another opportunity for Babar to score a century and give their fans a reason to say he scored a century. Feel for the bowlers though who will put in hard yards https://t.co/vtUV8FS3fu
