
Ever since the International Cricket Council (ICC) introduced the truncated version of the game, there was no shortage in terms of entertainment, thrills and chills.
In fact, the entertainment quotient only got amplified to the core which kept the fans on the edge of their seats. As far as the T20 World Cup tournaments are concerned, West Indies and England are the only two teams who have won two trophies.
On the other hand, the likes of Team India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Australia won a title apiece. During the last edition of the ICC T20 World Cup, England made it to the finals and defeated Pakistan in the final showdown to win their second title.
Virat Kohli among three Indians named in ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year 2022
Meanwhile, in the latest development, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named the T20I team of the year for men’s cricket on Sunday. The players who ticked the boxes in batting, bowling and wicketkeeping abilities were named in the Men’s T20I team of the year.
The ICC named Jos Buttler as the captain and the wicketkeeper-batsman whereas Mohammad Rizwan is slotted as an opener alongside Buttler. Meanwhile, the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is among the 3 Indian players who found his name in the ICC Men’s Team of the Year 2022.
The other two players include Suryakumar Yadav who has been slotted at No.4 whereas all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been slotted at No.7 respectively. ICC named New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza at No.5 and No.6 respectively.
Sam Curran who was named the man of the tournament for taking 13 wickets in the competition was slotted at No.8. On the other hand, Wasnindu Hasaranga is the lone spinner in the T20I team of the year whereas the pace battery includes the likes of Haris Rauf and Josh Little.
