When Team India and Pakistan cricket team lock horns with each other, the entertainment quotient gets amplified to a great extent. The players of both teams approach the game with passion, grit and determination.
As a result, the level of competitiveness becomes so high and intense as well, leading to one heck of a battle. Both teams haven’t been playing bilateral series since 2012 owing to escalating political tensions.
However, these two powerhouses have been competing against each other only in ACC and ICC events. Both teams met each other on three occasions (twice in Asia Cup 2022) and once in Twenty20 World Cup 2022.
Team India got the better of Pakistan in the group stage of the Asia Cup 2022 by five wickets. On the other hand, Pakistan made a stellar rebound in the Super 4 of the Asia Cup 2022 by beating India by five wickets.
India and Pakistan are in the same group for the Asia Cup 2023
Meanwhile, the most recent meeting between India and Pakistan took place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. The Men in Blue clinched the thriller by 4 wickets.
Meanwhile, in the latest development, it has been learnt that India and Pakistan are in the same group for the Asia Cup 2023, as the tournament will be played in the form of a 50-over format.
It is also worth mentioning here that the Sri Lankan cricket team are the defending Asia Cup champions in Dubai. They got the better of Pakistan in the final to win their sixth Asia Cup title.
The upcoming Asia Cup tournament will be played in September, in what will be a six-team affair. It includes India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and a qualifier team.
The fans will be eagerly waiting for the battle between India and Pakistan. Meanwhile, the venues have not been finalised yet.
