ICC World Cup 2023: 2 unlucky players to miss out from the Indian squad for World Cup
BCCI has named the final 15-member squad for the ICC World Cup 2023. Rohit Sharma will be leading the team whereas Hardik Pandya will be his deputy. The Indian squad is pretty much expected but there were a few notable names missing from the team. In this piece, we take a look at 2 unlucky players to miss out from the Indian squad for the World Cup:
Sanju Samson is one of the unluckiest players to miss out from the Indian squad for the ICC World Cup 2023. Despite averaging 55 in the 50-over format, he has been dropped from the team and this speaks volumes about how disappointed he would be. The keeper batter has been performing exceptionally well in the ODIs and even smashed a rollicking half-century in the last he played. He has travelled with the team for Asia Cup 2023 as a standby player. He has smashed 390 runs in 13 games.
Another unlucky player to miss out from the Indian Squad for the ICC World Cup 2023 is Yuzvendra Chahal. The leg-spinner has been left out of the team for another main event it has been the case in the last few tournaments. He was expected to be in the team because of his experience and what he has done over the last few years. He has been India’s first-choice bowler in the ODIs and his record is terrific too. But Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel got the nod ahead of him and it’s fair to say that he’s unfortunate to miss out in the team.
