Haris Rauf has been one of the most consistent pacers of the Pakistan cricket team for quite a long time now. The right-arm pacer has often ruffled the opposition batsmen’s feathers with subtle bowling variations of good line and length.
He made his ODI and T20I debut in 2020. Since then, he carved out a reputation for himself as one of the best in the business by leading the bowling attack by example, more often than not.
The 29-year-old played just one Test so far in his career wherein he took one wicket to his name. On the other hand, he has represented the national cricket team in 17 ODIs and 57 T20Is so far.
The Rawalpindi-born cricketer has bagged 30 wickets in the 50-over format and 72 wickets in the T20I format. He has maintained an impressive economy of 5.77 in One-Day Internationals whereas he has an economy of 8.07 in Twenty20 Internationals. Haris Rauf registered his best bowling figures of 4/65 in ODIs and 4/22 in T20Is.
Haris Rauf reacts upon entering the academy for the first time
Meanwhile, the right-arm quick has delivered his honest reaction upon entering the academy for the first time in his life. He said he used to eat as many as 24 eggs in a day in a bid to increase his pace.
Haris Rauf further added that he was given a diet plan by coach Aqib Javed to eat 8 eggs apiece in three different sessions – breakfast, lunch and dinner. Upon entering the academy for the first time, he was literally taken aback after seeing a crate of eggs.
Describing his reaction, he said he thought he had come to some poultry farm upon seeing so many eggs. Haris Rauf was recently seen donning the national outfit in the second ODI against the New Zealand cricket team.
The right-arm paceman bowled his full quota of 10 overs wherein he conceded 47 runs and took one wicket to his name. Unfortunately, he ended up on the losing side as New Zealand won the game by 79 runs.
"I used to eat 24 eggs in a day to increase my pace. I was given a plan by Aqib Javed to eat eight eggs each in breakfast, lunch and dinner. When I entered the academy for the first time, I was amazed to see crate of eggs. I thought I had come to some poultry farm," Haris Rauf.
