Chennai Super Kings released N Jagadeesan ahead of the IPL 2023 mini-auction and the Tamil Nadu-born cricketer thought that he wouldn’t get picked by anyone at the auction in Kochi today.
It is due to the fact that he didn’t get enough games to play for CSK in the last season. In addition, a paltry strike rate of 118.61 is something not really appealing for a player in the IPL.
He decided to head back to the UK in order to play league cricket there but things changed for him all of a sudden as the two-time IPL champions, Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for a price of INR 90 lakh.

In fact, even Chennai Super Kings showed some interest to sign the player but backed out, perhaps due to a lack of funds as KKR eventually won the bid to sign the services of the Tamil Nadu cricketer.
For the unversed, N Jagadeesan was a part of the CSK squad in the fifteenth edition of the IPL but got only two games to play for the franchise, wherein he scored 40 runs to his name.
N Jagadeesan has played seven games in the IPL wherein he scored 73 runs at a strike rate of 110.6 where he registered his best score of 39*. The wicketkeeper-batsman has affected 5 stumping and 2 run outs in T20 cricket.
On the other hand, he has affected six stumping and four run outs in List A cricket whereas he affected three stumping in first-class cricket. Overall, he has taken 65 catches in first-class cricket, 28 catches in List-A cricket and 17 catches in T20 cricket.
He scored 1485 runs in first-class cricket, 2090 runs in List-A cricket and 1064 runs in T20 cricket. Jagadeesan slammed 5 centuries, 6 fifties in first-class cricket, eight centuries, six fifties in List-A cricket and six fifties in T20 cricket.
