“Chahar Injury, No Raina, Getting 2020 Vibes”- Twitter Reacts To Reports Of Deepak Chahar Missing Major Part Of IPL 2022

Deepak Chahar was the second most expensive signing at the IPL Auction 2022. The Chennai Super Kings broke the bank to acquire the services of the Indian all-rounder for a whopping INR 14 crore. Unfortunately, it seems Chahar may miss most of the matches in IPL 2022 because of an injury.

Chahar suffered the injury while playing for the Indian cricket team in the T20I series against the West Indies cricket team. He could not complete his overs and returned to the dressing room because of a quadriceps tear.

According to ESPNCricinfo, Chahar could be out for weeks, meaning he will miss most matches for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022. For the first time in the history of the Indian Premier League auctions, the Chennai Super Kings spent more than INR 10 crore for a player, and it seems he will not play the full season.

Deepak Chahar’s absence will hurt the Chennai Super Kings a lot because the team does not have Shardul Thakur this year. Their depth will be tested because their overseas slots are full, meaning they can sign an Indian replacement if at all need be.

“It is understood that the Super Kings are awaiting a final assessment from the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, where Chahar is currently undergoing his rehabilitation,” ESPNCricinfo reported.

The Chennai Super Kings lost most of their players to other teams at the mega auction. They had to fight an intense bidding war to recruit Chahar. Fans should note that the fast bowler performed brilliantly for CSK when the IPL matches happened in Mumbai last season.
