Sunrisers Hyderabad are one of the most consistent teams in the Indian Premier League and they have a habit of qualifying for the playoffs, more often than not. What really made them one of the top teams is their potential to make use of their available resources to better effect.

However, things really messed up for them in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League. They finished 8th on the league stage points table under the captaincy of Kane Williamson.

Sunrisers Hyderabad team management were not too happy with the performances under Kane Williamson. As a result, they decided not to retain the experienced stalwart in the IPL 2023 mini-auction.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had a very good auction in Kochi as they brought in the right pool of players that suit their philosophy. SRH won their first title under the captaincy of David Warner in the IPL 2016 season.
