England’s finest batsman Joe Root is part of the ongoing Test series against Pakistan. The right-handed batsman recently scripted a new record in the longest format of the game.
The star cricketer etched his name into the record books after he became just the third player in the history of Test cricket to score 10,000 runs and also take 50 wickets to his fabulous Test career. Steve Waugh and Jacques Kallis were the other two who were the first to score 10,000 runs and take 50 wickets.
Joe Root is one of the very few players in the modern era who is consistent in his approach. He has been out of the ODI and T20I set-up for quite a while as he is pretty much focusing on the Test format right now.

England international achieved the feat during the second Test match against Pakistan at Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan. Joe Root didn’t bring the best out of himself with the bat in the second Test where he scored 8 and 21 in the first and second innings.
However, he was able to weave the magic with the ball, taking two wickets in the first innings and he settled for one wicket in the second innings. Currently, Root has scored 10,629 runs in the longest format of the game.
He has a fantastic batting average of 49.67 and has struck as many as 28 centuries, 5 double centuries and 55 half-centuries to his name. He is 31 years old and still has many more years left for him to shatter more records in the purest format of the game.
Meanwhile, the England cricket team led by Ben Stokes scripted a Test series win over Pakistan today. England got the better of Pakistan by 26 runs and won the Test series by 2-0. Earlier, they won the first Test by 74 runs in Rawalpindi and they followed it up with yet another win in the second Test to seal the deal.
