Chennai Super Kings are the second-most successful franchise in the history of India’s premier T20 tournament. Popularly known as the “yellow army”, CSK have won four titles since its inception.
During the last season, things did get messed up to a massive extent as they not only failed to qualify for the playoffs but also ended up in ninth place in the IPL 2022 group stage points table.
The four-time IPL champions have tweaked their squads ahead of the upcoming mini IPL 2023 auction which will be held in Kochi on December 23. They retained some players but at the same time released top cricketers as well.
It remains to be seen how the yellow brigade would approach the sixteenth edition of the IPL. MS Dhoni will be leading the team from the front and the cricketing brain would give it all to guide CSK to another title.
Chennai Super Kings appoint Dwayne Bravo as their bowling coach
Meanwhile, in the latest development, it has been confirmed that Chennai Super Kings have appointed Dwayne Bravo as their bowling coach. The former West Indies’ player will be looking forward to working with the franchise he loves the most.
He has been one of the integral bowlers of CSK’s history. The former West Indies all-rounder has played as many as 161 games in the history of the IPL wherein he scored 1560 runs including 5 half-centuries to his name.
He maintained a strike rate of close to 130 and has been a brilliant bowler for the team. DJ Bravo has accounted for 183 dismissals at an economy rate of 8.38 including 3 maiden overs.
On the other hand, he has registered his career-best bowling figures of 4/22. Besides that, he has taken 2 four-wicket hauls to his name. His contribution to Chennai Super Kings shall never be forgotten and will be helping the CSK bowlers bring the best out of themselves in the upcoming season of the IPL.
