When Ben Stokes pulled out of the last IPL mega auction after taking over the captaincy of England test team, a lot of people thought that he might keep himself away from IPL for the next 2-3 years, but it doesn’t seem that’s going to be the case.
Even with the Ashes series scheduled straight after the IPL 2023, Ben Stokes has reportedly decided to put his name forward for the IPL 2023 mini-auction and since he is one of the best players in the world, it’s not surprising that he is drawing interest from different sections of fans.
However, what will affect the price tag of Stokes in the IPL auction is the fact that he is available for a full season or not. If the allrounder is available for a full season, with the kind of ability and experience that he has, he is surely going to be on the radar of more than a couple of teams.
The RCB fans, meanwhile, don’t just want their management to buy Stokes, they also want their management to give captaincy of the team to Stokes and take the captaincy back from Faf du Plessis, who was given the role only a year ago.
Fans of Rajasthan Royals want Ben Stokes back as well
The RCB fans are excited about the prospect of Stokes and Kohli playing in the same team, because RCB are almost certain to retain Virat Kohli at the same salary as last season. Faf du Plessis is likely to be retained by RCB as well, but it’s not certain yet if he will continue captaining the team or not.
