3 major mistakes LSG made at the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions

LSG did not have a great outing at the auctions. That was one of the main reasons why they are out of the tournament in the league stage. Here, we take a look at the list of three major mistakes LSG made at the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.

1) Overspending on a player with duplicate attributes

Nicholas Pooran was already in the squad. He bats in the middle-order, is a wicket-keeper, a left-hander and a captaincy choice. Rishabh Pant offers the same. Variety is important. This amount could have been spent on Shreyas Iyer.

2) Not investing in a foreign pacer is one of the mistakes LSG made at the IPL 2025 Mega Auctions

Shamar Joseph is the only foreign pacer in the side. They bid for the likes of Josh Hazlewood. However, they did not sign anyone. A good foreign pacer would have added good balance and experience to the side. Hence, this was a big miss for the side.

3) Imbalanced overseas core

Most teams have an overseas core that is spread across different departments. However, LSG had it just in the batting unit. Hence, with the Indian bowlers not firing, LSG did not have great foreign backups to make amends. This was a major tactical error by the side.
