Although not official, from credible reports, the list of players who have registered for IPL 2024 Auctions is out. Surprisingly, a few players seem to have overpriced themselves. This could have an effect on them getting picked at the auctions. On that note, here, we take a look at two Indians with INR 2 Crores base price who might go unsold in IPL 2024 Auctions.
1) Kedar Jadhav
It was a surprise when Kedar Jadhav was picked as a replacement player by Royal Challengers Bangalore last season. Kedar had been in decent domestic form back then. RCB was looking for an experienced name in the middle-order. Hence, they got Kedar onboard. The player himself had said that he was surprised to see a franchise call him to join the team.
That said, it will be a surprise if Kedar gets picked again. In the limited chances he got last season, he was not great. His current domestic form is pretty good but his age might hinder teams from going for him. Now, his base price is INR 2 crores and that might further put him in a difficult spot.
2) Umesh Yadav might go unsold in IPL 2024 Auctions
Umesh Yadav is one of the Indians with INR 2 Crores base price who might go unsold in IPL 2024 Auctions. The Vidharba pacer has been in decent domestic form in recent times. However, with franchises having less slots to fill, they might not look towards Umesh Yadav. While Umesh is good in the powerplay, he does not have good skills in the other phases of the game.
Moreover, Umesh has kept his base price at INR 2 Cr. This is a big amount to invest on a veteran cricketer who can click only during the powerplay. Franchises would rather invest on an youngster. This way, they get to test the player’s skills. Even it fails, it won’t hurt them much.
