It has already been reported that Andy Flower might leave Lucknow Super Giants. Gautam Gambhir would be the obvious choice to become the Head Coach but it appears that the scene is different. Gambhir is a legend at KKR and it is reported that he might join them back. However, it is unclear in what capacity he would join the Kolkata-based outfit.
KKR has had some issues with the backroom staff in recent years. There have been plenty of blunders at the auction and even during the season, there have been some bad decisions. It was only recently that the team appointed Chandrakant Pandit as the Head Coach. While the season did not end well for them, there is a core developing at KKR and it might be a good idea to bring someone like Gambhir onboard.

Meanwhile, it would be big news if Gambhir makes the move to KKR. Apart from the cricketing reasons, there would be a lot of political context given to the news. That said, KKR is a really good side in the making and they might be strong contenders for the next season. While Shreyas Iyer is likely to come back and lead the side, the team has a solid batting attack comprising Nitish Rana, Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh and Andre Russell.
