Gary Ballance is a professional cricketer who has represented both the England national cricket team and the Zimbabwe cricket team. He represented the England cricket team internationally until 2017.

After that, he represented the Zimbabwe cricket team in 2023. Gary Ballance is a left-handed batter and a leg-break bowler. He has also played for Yorkshire County Cricket Club in his career.

He kick-started his cricketing career in Zimbabwe before shifting to England in 2006. Gary made his first-class debut for Derbyshire in 2007 and in the subsequent year, he joined Yorkshire.

Later on, he quickly carved out a reputation for himself as a reliable middle-order batter. Notably, he was a pivotal player for the team as they won consecutive County Championship trophies in 2014 and 2015.

Meanwhile, Gary Ballance has made up his mind to call it quits from international cricket, a move that shocked the entire cricket fraternity. The 33-year-old retired from all forms of the game after a brief Zimbabwe comeback.

Gary Ballance made his international debut for the England cricket team in 2013. He went on to play in 24 Tests for the team. He composed 1,653 runs at a batting average of 40.3

It is worth mentioning that he has smashed five centuries and seven fifties to his name in the longest format of the game, registering his best score of 156. On the other hand, he also played 21 One Day Internationals and 1 T20I for England.

The veteran scored 454 runs at an average of 25.2 including four half-centuries, registering his personal best score of 79. He scored 30 runs in the only T20I he has played for England.

Despite enjoying early success in the game, his international career was impeded after a dismal run of form in 2015. He didn’t play for England since 2017. Gary signed a two-year agreement with Zimbabwe Cricket in late 2022 where he went on to play five ODIs, one T20I and a Test for them in his brief return.
