India is the second-most populous country in the world with an estimated figure of 1.4 billion. If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, India will surpass China in the near future to become the most populous country.

In India, cricket is not just a sport but is considered a religion and the craze for the sport is simply unreal. Ever since the introduction of the Indian Premier League in 2008, the number of fans has kept increasing bit by bit.
BCCI got a staggering revenue from the media rights of IPL and WIPL
Today, cricket is one of the most popular sports in the world and the most-watched sport in India. Meanwhile, in the latest development, it has been learnt that the Board of Control for Cricket in India got massive revenue from the media rights of IPL and Women’s IPL.
The richest cricket body that generates revenues from broadcasting and media rights, jersey sales and other sectors got a mind-boggling revenue of INR 49,341 crores from the media rights of IPL and WIPL.
The Men’s IPL has successfully completed 15 editions since the inception of the Indian Premier League. The IPL 2023 mini-auction also took place in Kochi on December 23, 2023.
The ten franchises will be fighting amongst themselves in a bid to win the title in the upcoming season. While the men’s IPL attained staggering success since its launch, the women’s IPL will get recognition once it kicks off in the March-April window.
The tournament comprises as many as five teams and will be held in March 2023 in India. It remains to be seen which team will come out on top to win the inaugural edition of the Women’s IPL.
