Ireland cricket team are locking horns with the Bangladesh cricket team in the solitary Test match at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. Ireland skipper Andrew Balbirnie won the toss and chose to bat first.
Batting first, the Irish team posted a total of 214 at the expense of all the ten wickets. Harry Tector was the pick of the batters as he chipped in with 50 runs including six fours and a six.
On the other hand, the Tigers posted a pretty good total of 369/10. Mushfiqur Rahim let his bat do the talking by scoring 126 runs including 15 fours and a six. Shakib Al Hasan scored 87 whereas Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 55.
Bangladesh cricket team stretched a healthy lead of 155 runs. In response, Ireland lost wickets like a pack of cards as the top-order batters departed for cheap scores. However, Harry Tector provided some stability at the top by scoring another fifty where he composed his innings with the help of seven fours and a six.
Lorcan Tucker becomes the first Irish batter to score away Test ton
Meanwhile, Ireland’s wicketkeeper-batsman Lorcan Tucker provided a ray of hope for the visitors as he piled up runs when it mattered the most for the team. He scored runs in crucial circumstances and revived the team to a great extent.
In the process, he etched his name into the record books by becoming the first Irish batsman to score an overseas Test century, which is indeed worth applauding.
Ireland’s wicketkeeper-batsman assessed the conditions quite well and went about his business. In the process, he went on to score 108 off 162 balls where he struck 14 fours and a six.
While he was looking so good, Ebadot Hossain got rid of the set batter as Shoriful Islam took a good catch to dismiss Lorcan Tucker. At the time of writing this article, Ireland are leading by 127 runs. They posted 282/8 in 102 overs, with Andy McBrine and Graham Hume batting on 68 and 9 respectively.
He becomes only the second Irish Test Centurion after Kevin O’Brien.

There are few more team like Scotland and Netherlands also deserve to have test status. Atleast they can play low tier team but I feel it's important to have few more team. They might take time to establish in test cricket but needs to give them opportunity'
