ICC tournaments are the toughest ones to perform for any cricketer. The best teams from across the world participate in ICC tournaments. Since so many fans keep an eye on the matches, the players are under immense pressure. Some of the big names have faltered to deliver at the grand stage, but Indian batter Virat Kohli has dominated the big events.

A Twitter user recently shared a statistic that showed that Virat Kohli is the only batter in cricket history to have a batting average of more than 100 in three different ICC tournaments. There are 27 players who had a batting average of more than 100 in one ICC tournament, while Kohli is the only player to have that average in more than one competition.

In the ICC T20 World Cup 2014, Virat Kohli scored 319 runs in six matches at a stupendous batting average of 106.33. He scored four half-centuries in that mega event and remained unbeaten on three occasions.

Virat Kohli had a batting average of more than 100 in two other ICC tournaments as well

Two years later, in ICC T20 World Cup 2016, Virat Kohli scored 273 runs in five matches at a marvelous batting average of 136.50. He registered three fifties in five innings and played an integral role in India’s journey to the semifinals.

A year later, in ICC Champions Trophy 2017, Virat Kohli captained the Indian cricket team and led from the front with 258 runs in five innings. He remained not out in three innings. His batting average in that competition was 129.

Virat Kohli will likely play for India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Fans will hope that he replicates his past performances and helps the Men in Blue lift the prestigious trophy in Australia later this year. Kohli is in England right now, gearing up for the fifth Test against Ben Stokes’ men.
