Test cricket is often called the purest format of the game because it is the only format which determines the overall quality of a player. When a batsman tends to score plenty of runs in Test cricket, he is considered a world-class batsman.

The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Kumar Sangakkara, Jacques Kallis, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Ricky Ponting, Rahul Dravid, Alastair Cook, Sunil Gavaskar, Steve Waugh, Younis Khan have dominated the Test format.

They made a name for themselves in Test cricket by showcasing the art of patience and perseverance. As a result, they were able to shine at the highest level for a longer period of time.

Meanwhile, the Test cricket which is being played today is not the same that was played before. Earlier, the cricket fraternity was blessed to see the rivalry between India and Pakistan in bilateral series.

PCB chairman, Ramiz Raja says Test cricket needs India vs Pakistan

The last time when India and Pakistan locked horns with each other in a bilateral series was back in 2012 and since then both teams haven’t played any series owing to escalating political tensions between both nations.

However, both teams have been locking horns with each other in the ICC or ACC events. Recently, both teams met each other in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

Rohit Sharma and Co won the thrilling fixture by four wickets at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman, Ramiz Raja added that Test cricket needs India vs Pakistan. “Test cricket needs India vs Pakistan,” said PCB chairman Ramiz Raja while speaking to BBC TMS.

The epic rivalry between India and Pakistan is well-known to the cricket fraternity. It will be quite interesting to see both nations play against each other in the purest format of the game.
