The ODI series between Australia and the Sri Lankan cricket team is in the history books. The island nation beat the former five-time world champions by a score line of 3-2 in the five-match series to give joy to the home fans. Amid all that, Cricket Australia agreed to send a full-strength squad to Sri Lanka for an ICC World Test Championship series, a five-match ODI series, and a three-match T20I series. The eight white-ball fixtures of the tour have been completed. It has helped Sri Lanka a lot. Not only the people of Sri Lanka have got the joy, but they have also witnessed some top-quality cricketing action.
In the third T20I of the series, the Sri Lankan cricket team skipper Dasun Shanaka played a knock for the ages to help the island nation avoid a whitewash in the three-match series. After that, the Sri Lankan cricket team won the five-match ODI series against the Australian cricket team by 3-2.
“I thought the series was very hard-fought. Very close in a few games and credit to Sri Lanka – they played better cricket than what we did over the course of the five games and they deserve the win,” Australian cricket team captain Aaron Finch said after the series.

Since Australia agreed to visit Sri Lanka in these tough times, the fans decided to don the yellow colors in the stadium and thanked the visitors for supporting the Sri Lankans in this situation. Aaron Finch acknowledged the support at the post-match presentation and said:
“It was fun being out here. I want to thank you all (the crowd) for your support. I know there’s been a lot of yellow in the crowd. You’ve been amazing.”
