Meanwhile, in the latest development, Virat Kohli has returned as RCB captain for the first time since IPL 2021. After a long gap of 556 days, he is leading the team for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Virat Kohli has been the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since 2013 but stepped down from the post after the IPL 2021 season.

Under his captaincy, RCB made it to the finals of the competition in the IPL 2016 season but surrendered at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is captaining RCB in place of Faf du Plessis, who is featuring as an Impact player today.

Virat Kohli, at the toss, added that Faf du Plessis won’t be fielding in the game due to a bruised rib. However, he is starting for RCB as an impact player. Later on, he will be replaced by seamer Vyshak Vijaykumar at the innings break.
