Team India’s performance in the semi-final of T20 World Cup against the England cricket team was not up to the mark in Adelaide. England cricket team well and truly dominated the game in all aspects and came through with flying colours.

Jos Buttler won the game by 10 wickets in a comfortable fashion. Despite posting a competitive total on the board, the Indians failed to defend the target. The fact that they didn’t take a wicket summed up their show.

Rohit Sharma came under for his terrible display of captaincy and tactics. Besides that, he didn’t contribute much with the bat for the team in the T20 World Cup 2022.

Following India’s exit from the marquee event, a top BCCI official, on the condition of anonymity told that many senior players might not feature in T20Is that are slated to be played next year.

As per reports, the decision to not play senior cricketers is due to the fact that the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to be held next year and the management wants its senior cricketers to focus on ODIs.

Meanwhile, Team India are in New Zealand for the limited-overs assignment that comprises three T20Is and three ODIs. Hardik Pandya is the stand-in captain for the three-match T20I series whereas Shikhar Dhawan will serve as the captain for the ODI series.
