The Three Lions played a fearless brand of cricket and the bazball effect was quite evident by the way they approached themselves on a flat wicket on the first two days of the Test.
Ben Stokes and Co scored more than 500 runs on the opening day of the Test match, which is more than any other team in the history of Test cricket. England posted a massive total of 657 runs on the board in the first innings.
In response, Pakistan were bowled out for a fighting 579 runs on the board in the first innings. England declared the innings at 264/7 and then in response, Pakistan were bowled out for 268 runs. England won the game by 74 runs and drew first blood in the three-match Test series, with two more games to go.

Meanwhile, former England cricketers namely Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton analyzed England’s emphatic win over the Pakistan cricket team in the first Test.
After the game, England’s Test captain, Ben Stokes said that this is one of England’s greatest-ever away victories and Nasser Hussain added that it is quite too difficult to argue with Ben Stokes’ statement.
To which, Michael Atherton said Ben Stokes is not a ‘very good student of history’. Atherton said he said he doesn’t know how much Ben Stokes would know about the country’s previous victories.
He said that England’s win over Pakistan must rank amongst their finest. On the other hand, Nasser Hussain said England’s cricket team didn’t play out for a draw as they went on to produce one of the superb performances on the field and won the game. According to Nasser Hussain, this has to be England’s one of greatest away wins.
