The 30th match of the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League will go down in the history books as one of the best IPL matches of all time. The match had everything that a fan could ask for in a T20 match. It had a hundred, good partnerships, four runs taken by running between the wickets, a hat-trick, spin, pace, diamond duck, direct hit runout and much more. Obed McCoy emerged as a hero for the Rajasthan Royals in the match.

Speaking about the match first, the Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field first at the Brabourne Stadium. It was a batting paradise, and the opener of the Rajasthan Royals team Jos Buttler made great use of the conditions as he raced to his second IPL ton of the season.

Cameos from Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer ensured that the Rajasthan Royals finished with 217/5 on the board in 20 overs. Chasing 218 to snap their losing streak in IPL 2022, the Knight Riders lost Sunil Narine’s wicket on the first ball, but half-centuries from Shreyas Iyer and Aaron Finch kept KKR alive in the contest.

The match went down to the final over, where Obed McCoy had to defend 11 runs. The debutant did a fantastic job and picked up the remaining two wickets in the space of four balls to power RR to a seven-run win. Here’s what McCoy said after the match:
