The Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson has revealed that when he went on the tour of New Zealand at the start of 2020, it was his comeback to the Indian team, a lot of things had changed and he didn’t really know who to talk to and how to carry himself to start with.

But, it was the then vice-captain Rohit Sharma, who is now the captain of India in all three formats of the game, who helped him gel into the group.

According to Sanju Samson, Rohit Sharma offered him to go out for a dinner and since he was a bit lost at that point, he felt really happy that Rohit offered to go out with him. The two of them went out and had a good interaction which helped him gel into the group.

Rahul Dravid talks to everyone in the same tone regardless of his profile: Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson was in an exclusive conversation with the presenter Gaurav Kapoor on his show Breakfast with Champions where he heaped praise on the current Indian head coach Rahul Dravid as well. Talking about Dravid, Sanju said that Dravid is unique in the sense that he treats everyone in the same way regardless of the profile of the person.

Sanju revealed that the tone of Rahul Dravid doesn’t really change a lot whether he is talking to the owner of Rajasthan Royals or a normal groundsman. His tone remains the same and he finds it really fascinating.

Rahul Dravid is now the head coach of the Indian national cricket team, but he has worked alongside Sanju at Rajasthan Royals as well, in the capacity of a mentor, and Sanju has seen the working style of Dravid from close quarters.

It remains to be seen now that with Dravid at the helm of affairs for the Indian team, how much of a run Sanju Samson gets in the Indian set-up because he has never really got consistent opportunities for India in white-ball cricket despite putting on wonderful performances in the IPL almost every season.
