The first T20I between India and Australia has already been done and dusted. The first game ended in favour of the Aussies at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.

Australia drew first blood in the three-match T20I series. They got the better of Team India by 4 wickets and took the first lead in the series. Team India did whatever they could do to stop the Aussies.

However, the visitors were head and shoulders above India in every aspect of the game. They aced the run-chase in 19.2 overs and took the first lead in the series.

Meanwhile, the second T20I between India and Australia is taking place at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur. It is a must-win game for India in order to stay alive in the series.

The start of the game was delayed due to rain. After several inspections, the on-field umpires decided that it is best to play the game but with some restrictions in place.

As a result, the game was reduced to 8 overs each side. Interestingly, Team India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first. We haven’t this scenario for quite a long time. Even during the Asia Cup 2022 tournament, India didn’t have the opportunity to chase against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stage.

Sadly, in both games, India failed to cross the line and ended up getting knocked out of the tournament. Now that India have won the toss, they have a great chance to restrict the opposition to a decent total and chase down the target.
