Everyone knows that the Afghanistan leg spinner Rashid Khan is a huge fan of the former Indian captain MS Dhoni and whenever he gets to meet Dhoni, whether, after international matches or IPL games, the two are always seen talking to each other for a long time.

Recently in one of the interviews on Star Sports when Rashid Khan was asked to name superheroes in his life, he named himself, his late father, the Afghanistan skipper Mohammad Nabi, and then he also named MS Dhoni as one of the superheroes of his life.

The influence of Mohammad Nabi on Rashid’s career is well known, as Nabi was one of the senior-most Afghanistan players when Rashid came into the Afghanistan set up and must have been a big help for the young leg spinner.

But, for Rashid to name Dhoni as one of his superheroes as well shows how much of an inspiration the former Indian captain has been for him.

This is not the first time that Rashid has come with such high praise for Dhoni. Even a few months back when he was talking to a Pakistani journalist Sawera Pasha, Rashid had said that it’s his dream to play under the captaincy of MS Dhoni at some point of time in his career.

Rashid’s dream of playing under Dhoni hasn’t been fulfilled till now because he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL auction and was then retained by them.

And, Rashid is expected to be retained by SRH ahead of the upcoming IPL mega auction as well, which will take place soon. The 23-year-old leggie is SRH’s premier bowler and has been their best performer in the last 3 years, striking for them at a low economy rate in almost every game.
