Pretoria-born cricketer Donovan Ferreira grabbed the eyeballs of the cricket fraternity by playing a ridiculous inning on his SA20 debut. He took South Africa’s premier T20 competition by storm with his fearless brand of cricket.

The right-handed batsman simply toyed with the opposition batters like a hot knife through butter. Plying his trade for the Joburg Super Kings franchise, the 24-year-old took Durban Super Giants’ bowling attack to the cleaners.

In the process, he smashed sixes and fours at will. He chipped in with an unbeaten 82 off just 40 deliveries. When he arrived at the crease, his team were in all sorts of trouble as they were stuttering at 27 for the loss of four wickets.

Despite the fact that they were under real pressure, Donovan Ferreira decided to launch his explosive batting as he dominated the bowling attack with ease. He smashed a flurry of eight boundaries and five sixes to his name.

His ferocious display of might and courage helped the Joburg Super Kings reach 190 runs at their designated quota of 20 overs. The youngster drew plaudits for his explosive batting abilities.

He was even hungry to perform with the ball. Having bowled his full quota of four overs, he bagged one wicket to his name while also conceding 28 runs. Notably, he took the prized wicket of Durban skipper Quinton de Kock.

The South African international was batting so well as he looked good for his 78 off 52 deliveries but was dismissed by Donovan Ferreira. It is indeed an incredible start to his franchise career and will be looking forward to doing well in the upcoming games.

For the record, Rajasthan Royals purchased this player for INR 50 lakh at the IPL 2023 auction that was held in Kochi on late December 23. The youngster registered himself at the auction for INR 20 lakh but increased to 50 lakh in the auction time as the Royals locked the deal.
