Chennai Super Kings are crossing swords with Delhi Capitals in the 55th match of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. The game is being held at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
Talking about the match, CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat first. CSK have three games in hand and they will have to win two of those three games in the league stage in order to qualify for the playoffs.
If they fail to win two games and manage to win only one then they can still qualify but they will have to rely on the results of other teams to see if there is a minimal chance of making the cut.
Ajinkya Rahane gets dismissed for 21 off 20 balls
It is absolutely imperative for CSK to take things a bit more seriously since the upcoming games will decide the fate of their journey. Meanwhile, CSK got off to a quick start in the form of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway.
The duo added 32 runs for the opening wicket before Conway departed for 10. Since then, CSK totally lacked the stability in the batting unit. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane, who has been in scintillating form for CSK this season was dismissed for just 21 off 20 deliveries as he was caught and bowled by Lalit Yadav in the first ball of the 12th over of the game. Rahane who has been incredibly good in terms of the strike rate had a strike rate of just 105.
