Rajasthan Royals locked horns with Kolkata Knight Riders in the recently-concluded fixture at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The 56th match of IPL 2023 totally turned out to be an one-sided fixture.

The Knight Riders didn’t have the firepower to put enough runs on the board as they could muster just 149/8 in their quota of 20 overs. Venkatesh Iyer top-scored with 57 off 42 balls including 2 fours and 4 sixes.

In response, Kolkata Knight Riders’ bowlers were clueless in their approach as they failed to stop Rajasthan Royals’ duo Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson from going all guns blazing in the run-chase.

The duo added a match-winning 121-run stand for the second wicket which sealed the deal for the inaugural IPL champions. Yashasvi Jaiswal top-scored with an unbeaten 98 off 47 balls including 13 fours and 5 sixes.

Sanju Samson remained unbeaten on 48 off 29 balls with the help of two fours and five hits over the fence at a strike rate of 165.52. Yashasvi Jaiswal was the pick of the batters in the run-chase for RR. He scored the fastest fifty in IPL history.
