Team India won the first T20I by two runs against Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and took the first lead in the three-match T20I series. The players of both teams are geared up for the second T20I today.

The game is being played at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. India’s T20I skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and invited the Dasun Shanaka-led Sri Lankan cricket team to open the face of the blade first.

It is a must-win game for Sri Lanka in order to stay alive in the series. On the other hand, the equation for India is quite simple and that is to win the game, which would help them win the series as well.

Hardik Pandya has been tremendous as a T20I captain so far, leading Team India to five victories and 1 draw from six games, which is quite an impressive start to his T20I captaincy career.

Rahul Tripathi receives his T20I India cap

Meanwhile, Rahul Tripathi who has impressed the cricket fraternity with his performances in the domestic and IPL circuits received his T20I India cap to represent the national cricket team. He received the cap from India’s batting coach Vikram Rathour.

It is indeed a dream-come-true moment for the Ranchi-born cricketer and will certainly be looking forward to making his presence count on his T20I debut. Tripathi has played 76 games in the cash-rich IPL wherein he scored 1798 runs at an average of 28.1 and a strike rate of 140.8 including 10 fifties.
