Sunrisers Hyderabad have already been in distorted shape in terms of producing a result in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. After failing to qualify for the playoffs in the last two seasons, they were expected to do much better this time around.

However, they didn’t operate as a team to come up with better results so far. They are now currently placed at the ninth spot in the IPL 2023 points table, which is really disappointing considering a team of that stature.

Having played seven games so far this season, they could win only two games but lost as many as five games. If they don’t sort out the woes now, they might not make it to the playoffs again this time.

As a result, he will no longer play his part for the Orange Army this season. He could score 60 runs and accounted for three dismissals so far this season. Washington Sundar’s absence is indeed a terrible blow to Sunrisers’ chances going forward in the latter stages of the tournament.

Washington Sundar has been dealing with injury issues in recent years. In fact, this is the third straight injury-interrupted season in the Indian Premier League. For the record, he missed the IPL 2021 season in the UAE owing to a finger injury.

Following that, he also missed many other bilateral series for Team India due to Covid-19 and a hamstring injury. In the last IPL season, he missed four games because of an injury to the bowling hand. He also went on to injure his shoulder and skipped another series for India.
