The Indian Premier League started way back in 2008. Since then, we have seen players participating in the tournament and then retiring to take up a different profession. Many have taken up coaching, as well. In fact, in the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup, we have some coaches who actually played in the IPL. A few of them specifically played for Royal Challengers Bangalore. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two former RCB players who are Head Coaches in the 2023 ODI World Cup.

1) Rahul Dravid

Rahul Dravid is the first player to be picked by RCB in the franchise’s history. He was the team’s “Icon” player and was also the first skipper of the side. However, after three seasons, he was released. Dravid then played for Rajasthan Royals.

At the moment, Rahul Dravid is the Head Coach of Team India. After doing well with India A and the U19 Teams, Rahul got an opportunity to coach the senior side. Although he has had struggles, the last few weeks have been good for the legendary cricketer. Winning the World Cup will be high on his agenda in the next weeks.

2) Andrew McDonald

Andrew McDonald is a part of this list of former RCB players who are Head Coaches in the 2023 ODI World Cup. In 2012, McDonald was picked by RCB and was a part of the team for one more season, as well.

While he was in and around the Australian Team in the backroom, after Justin Langer’s exit, the former all-rounder became the Head Coach of the side. He has a decent run, winning the World Test Championship. His team has a good chance of winning the upcoming World Cup. It would be a terrific feat if that happens. For that to happen, the senior starts must step up for the team.
