1) Axar Patel could slot himself at No.4 in the Delhi Capitals batting line-up
With Harry Brook ruled out, it will be interesting to see who plays at No.4. Axar Patel could promote himself to do the job.
He has the skills and experience to make that happen. However, it will be a risky call, as Axar also needs to be a captain and provide four overs with the ball.
2) Start Faf du Plessis ahead of JFM
Starting Faf over Jake Fraser-McGurk is one of the bold calls Axar could take at Delhi Capitals. It will be a controversial call if that happens.
Faf is in great IPL form. He offers consistency, something that JFM cannot at the moment. For the present success, Axar could start Faf ahead of the young Aussie.
3) Use KL Rahul at No.5
Firstly, not being a skipper, KL will want to make an impact as a batter. Opening the batting will give him the best chance.
However, for the side, KL’s experience in the middle order could be more useful. Now that Harry Brook is not there, there is a need for experience in the finishing department. Hence, Axar must insist KL Rahul bat at No.5.
