BCCI recently announced the squad for the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy. Here, we take a look at India‘s strongest playing 11 for the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy. Before that, here is a look at the squad:
India’s ICC 2025 Champions Trophy squad: Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill (VC), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja
Openers: Rohit Sharma (C) and Shubman Gill
The duo will be key to India’s performance in the tournament. Both are not in great form and hence, they will have to step up for the squad to do well.
Middle-Order: Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul (WK)
India is likely to have the same middle order as in the 2023 ODI World Cup. However, Gautam Gambhir likes left-right combination and hence, Pant could get a chance.
All-Rounders: Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya
Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya will be the all-rounders in India‘s strongest playing 11 for the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy. Unless Jaddu has a poor show in the first few games, Axar Patel may not get a game in the tournament.
Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh and Kuldeep Yadav
Barring Arshdeep Singh, all the other bowlers have injury issues. Therefore, the management will have to be ready with alternate options.
