What did Mahela Jayawardene say?

“If they take the confidence of what they achieved in the previous (T20) World Cup and then now at the Asia Cup, I think they shouldn’t be looking at anything other than going all the way and winning the World Cup,” Jayawardene said to the ICC.

“I mean that’s the mentality to have and this is a bunch I feel that they will play with no fear and no additional baggage on them either so just go out there and enjoy their cricket and play,” he continued.

The former Sri Lankan batter also stressed the point that a great deal would rely on how well Sri Lanka can adjust to the circumstances that will be there in Australia.

“The beginning of the World Cup is going to be really important for them because they need to get into a rhythm and get used to the playing circumstances. They can’t afford to make any mistakes. However, I have complete faith that they can do what has to be done,” he concluded.
