
Indian youngster Shubman Gill drew plaudits for his exceptional batting display against the New Zealand cricket team in the first ODI at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
The right-handed batter earlier added a 60-run opening partnership alongside Rohit Sharma before the Indian skipper departed for 34 runs. However, Shubman Gill grew from strength to strength by smashing a half-century.
He was getting even better as the game progressed and in the process, he went on to score his third ODI century. Shubman Gill constructed his innings with the help of 16 boundaries and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 118.28.

It is also worth mentioning here that Shubman Gill is the second-fastest Indian to score three ODI centuries. Besides that, the youngster averages 66+ and has a strike rate in excess of 104 in ODI.
In the third and final ODI against the Sri Lankan cricket team in Thiruvanthapuram, Shubman Gill hogged the limelight after he scored a scintillating century by taking the bowling attack to the cleaners.
At the time of writing this article, the Indian national cricket team have posted 210 for the loss of four wickets in 34 overs. Team India have already lost Rohit Sharma (34), Virat Kohli (8), Ishan Kishan (5) and Suryakumar Yadav (31).
Shubman Gill has proved once again that ODI is his preferred format. Having played 19 games so far, he scored 1005 runs. Overall, he slammed three centuries and five fifties to his name. Having already shown great signs with his batting technique, it is very much certain that the right-handed batter is destined for greatness in the future.

It needs consistency for at least a decade for that.
