Rohit Sharma has been in blazing form for the past year and in every format that he has played, he has taken it by storm and belted out a few masterclasses that left the world in awe of it.

He racked up a new feat yesterday as he managed to get inside the top five for both Test and ODI batting rankings, which is no mean feat with the cut-throat competition all around.

The current rankings of Rohit Sharma

He is currently ranked third in ODI ranking with 813 points in his repertoire, while his Test rankings have improved to the fifth position with 773 points.

In ODI he is preceded by Babar Azam and Virat Kohli while in Test cricket, he is just behind Joe Root, Kane Williamson, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschange.

Rohit Sharma’s exploits in 2021

He has been in scintillating form for the last three years, with him playing only three ODI’s that saw him racking up scores of 28, 25 and 37.

Coming to the number of Test matches, he has already played 10 Tests in 2021 where he has managed to blast phenomenal scores of 59 and 83 against England in the latter’s backyard, conjured a monumental 161, 66 and 49 against the same opposition but on his home soil.

He started the year with a roar with scores of 52 and 48 against a soaring Australia Down Under. He has been absolutely untenable in terms of technique and has been very fearless while batting.

Sharma continues to be one of India’s best hopes in the ongoing Test series against England that is currently level at 1-1. He will also be a part of the upcoming T20 World Cup, where he will be the vice-captain of India.
