The second T20I between India and Sri Lanka went in favour of the visitors in Pune. Team India did put up a fight and showed some incredible resistance in the run-chase but were unable to pull the trigger till the end.

During the second T20I, the young fast bowlers failed to adhere to the basics as they conceded 12 extras, out of which, seven were no-balls whereas four runs came in the form of wides and the other run was a leg bye.

After the game, Indian pacers namely Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Mavi came under fire for their expensive bowling spells. Arshdeep Singh literally had a torrid day at the office as he bowled as many as five no-balls.

Besides that, he conceded 37 runs in just two overs at an economy of 18.50. On the other side of the coin, Shivam Mavi conceded 53 runs at an expensive economy rate of 13.20.

Umran Malik was impressive in the first three overs before he conceded runs in his fourth over. Overall, he conceded 48 runs in four overs and bagged as many as three wickets to his name.

Following India’s defeat against Sri Lanka, Team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid backed the pacers by adding that mistakes such as a wide ball or no-ball might happen because they are young. The head coach further added that it is important to show patience and that the young ones are picking up the lessons well.
